I used to mail merge a word template with a.mdb data file of addresses just fine when i was using windows xp. I've just got a new imac and have got office mac 2011. Now i can see that the data file i want to access is in 'data sources' on my new mac and i can open the word template just fine, but i can't seem to open the database of names and addresses. When i use the mail merge manager and click on get list/open data source and then i select my.mdb data file it prompts me to identify what i want to convert the file from - and there are many options (the one automatically selected is unicode text). When i click on unicode text it asks me to select the encoding that makes my document readable, i've mucked around selecting mac os default, ms-dos and options under 'other encoding' but none seem to work. Does anyone know how i can open this.mdb data file (created in word for windwos xp) in word for mac so that i can continue mail merging on my mac without having to type the whole database of names and addresses again?
