Sorry for any trouble this caused. RTF Behavior: Opening rich text documents in WriteRoom will display in the theme's colors, but font and actual text color settings are not overwritten unless manually changed by you. Added: Toggle to view rich text documents with their actual text color.

Words you type have to constantly compete for your eye share against all kinds of menus, toolbars, windows, popups, tray icons, and so on.
With so much going on, it’s often difficult to write more than five words before launching into a major reformatting expedition. Fortunately, there is a great way to eliminate the distractions when writing. However, if using a pen and paper doesn’t work for you for some reason, you could also consider a special breed of word processors designed to eliminate distractions. These applications hide everything except your brilliant prose, leaving just you and your words starting back at you.
Back in the Day Distraction free writing tools are not exactly new. Was certainly quite Spartan in its interface, though probably not by choice: In fact, during the days of DOS and single window processing, relatively distraction free writing was the norm (again not necessarily by choice).
Things started to change in a big way after entered the word processor game.
